Golf IDS is an environmentally friendly 9-hole golf course built on reclaimed landfill a short drive from downtown Montreal. The client’s goal was to make the course an environmentalist’s dream through a multi-pronged approach targeting sustainability and active living. Architecture of public space was key to this objective.
Sid Lee Architecture was tasked with designing a series of public sites and spaces to celebrate active living based on golf and environmental responsibility. The team developed a concept based on partially buried concrete domes that allowed for the creation of vast column-free spaces offering great design and space utilization flexibility.
