Located in Parc-Extension, near Acadie metro station and UdeM’s recent MIL campus, the residential project at 495 Beaumont reflects a desire for connection and resonance with its neighborhood. Drawing inspiration from the architectural typologies of the area, the new build offers 117 rental units, ranging from studios to townhouses and two to three-bedroom apartments, in addition to commercial spaces located at street level. To ensure a context-sensitive integration, the project started off with public consultation and an analysis phase of the built environment. The approach revolves around the desire to embrace the sector’s architectural repertoire to give the project its distinctive feature: dynamic volumetrics and a rhythmic structure that is an echo of everything that surrounds it.
